A while back, I shared my how I felt when I saw how many children go hungry in the USA. One in four children go hungry throughout the week within the United States. This, to me, is ridiculous.
So, I got to work.
I found that our local food bank, Community Action in Provo, has an amazing program called, Backpacks for Kids. Within this program, sacks of food are prepared and then given to kids, who may not see a meal all weekend. Their teachers are given the sacks and the teachers then place the sacks of food in the children’s backpacks on Friday. I knew I had to get involved with this. I found that this program was in need of funds to provide protein into every sack they distributed. With the help of donations and a few Christmas card photo sessions, we raised $2, 420. They need $3000. So, though November 7th, I will be donating all the money I make with my photography business.

Hannah and I were able to help make these sacks for these wonderful children. I don’t think I could teach my children anything better than how to give of their time and resources. At the end of helping, Hannah had brought a quarter she had wanted to spend on herself, and decided she would rather give it to this charity. So in the end, we were able to give, Backpacks for Kids, $2, 420.25. I was so proud of her!
