My name is Niki Martins and I LOVE taking pictures.

Why do I love taking pictures, you might ask?

Well, I will tell you.

First, when my oldest daughter was born, we took her to your regular photo shops and they did an okay job.  But they were not flexible about time change, price or even what you got for your money.  For instance, her new born shots were of her crying the whole time (they would not allow us to come back for a redo).  So for, at the time a very costly cost to us, we got one semi-nice picture of our Hannah at 3 weeks.

I was upset and overwhelmed.

And then I thought, why don’t I learn how to be a photographer.

So I did.

Second, I have always been good at art.  I can draw, paint and even sculpt a little.

But I never found a medium that made me excited…until I found photography.

This amazing art is full of creativity and light!  There is so much to learn and know!

I love it!

Finally, I love making people happy.

To capture a newborn smile, a family laughing together or a tender moment of love between newly weds is an amazing feeling!

To stop a sunset or sunrise in a photo, this is what makes me happy.

I feel overwhelmed with joy when I am able to allow a mother to keep her baby from growing-up in pictures.

To be able to look back and see the memories that we forget, is a treasure to be able to give.

I am passionate about photography.

I will always be learning and growing in this diverse and special art.
